How to apply for jobs in fresh FIRS recruitment process

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has outlined specific qualifications and professional requirements for applicants seeking various roles.

Newsmen reports that the FIRS has officially commenced the process of recruiting experienced professionals to fill specialised positions and strengthen its workforce on Monday.

In addition to the current recruitment exercise, newsmen reported that the FIRS recently announced the opening of its application portal for tax officer positions on November 2, 2024.

This phase is for Officer Two and Officer One positions in eight states: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos and Oyo.

Meanwhile, the agency is now recruiting for assistant manager and deputy manager positions in PRS (risk management and Research), PR (public relations), ICT (cybersecurity & AI management), and legal, as well as senior manager and assistant director positions in tax (audit).

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Academic Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a second-class lower division or lower credit.

Applicants must have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program no later than December 31, 2017.

  1. Age Limits:

Applicants for Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager roles must not exceed 40 years of age by December 31, 2024.

Senior Manager and Assistant Director candidates must be under 45 years of age by the same date.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Teamwork and delegation expertise.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
