As the world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, Hon. Comrade James Onifade has called on the people of Osun State to use this festive season as an opportunity to renew their commitment to peace, love, and unity across the state.
In his Christmas message to the people of Osun State, he emphasized that the true spirit of Christmas extends beyond the exchange of gifts and festivities. He reminded citizens that this sacred season represents a divine call to embrace one another with compassion, understanding, and genuine brotherhood, regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences.
“Christmas is a season of hope and renewal,” Comrade stated. “It reminds us that in the midst of our challenges as a state, we must never lose sight of our shared humanity and our collective responsibility to build an Osun where peace reigns, love flourishes, and unity binds us together as one people.”
He acknowledged that Osun State has faced numerous trials throughout the year, from economic hardships to security challenges. However, he encouraged the people of Osun to draw strength from the Christmas story itself, which demonstrates that even in the humblest circumstances, great hope can be born.
He urged the people of Osun State to extend hands of fellowship to their neighbors, to forgive past grievances, and to work collaboratively toward a more prosperous and harmonious state. “Let us use this Christmas season to heal old wounds, bridge divides, and recommit ourselves to the values that make us proud people of Osun , our resilience, our warmth, and our capacity for community,” he said.
Hon. Comrade James Onifade particularly called on leaders at all levels to exemplify these virtues of peace, love, and unity in their service to the people. He stressed that leadership must be synonymous with sacrifice, empathy, and a genuine desire to uplift the lives of ordinary citizens.
As 2026 approaches with the governorship election knocking at the door, He reminded the people of Osun State not to forget their mandate. “Let us not lose sight of our collective responsibility to bring Governor Ademola Adeleke back into government for a second term. His leadership has demonstrated commitment to the progress and development of our dear state, and we must stand united in ensuring continuity of good governance,” he emphasized.
To families celebrating across the state, he wished them joy, safety, and abundant blessings. He prayed that the peace of the season would fill every home and that the coming year would bring renewed hope and tangible progress for all sons and daughters of Osun State.
