…Osun APC’s 12-Year Empty Scorecard Cannot Match Adeleke’s 3 Years Progress
It is quite surprising that the Osun APC, after 12 years of stagnation, debts, abandoned projects, salary woes, and infrastructural decay, still finds the courage to address governance in Osun State.
The same party that left behind over ₦400 billion in combined debt, months of unpaid salaries, dilapidated schools, collapsed healthcare structures, and a demoralized public service is suddenly lecturing anyone on performance?
They should be asking themselves what exactly they achieved in 12 long years.
1. On Infrastructure: Let’s Compare Records Honestly
APC wants to brag about the Olaiya Flyover, a structure many Osun residents jokingly refer to as “a flyover the size of a ladder.” Is that the landmark achievement of their entire decade in power?
How does that compare to the ongoing, properly engineered projects under Governor Adeleke?
The Alekuwodo/Okefia dualisation and upgrade
The massive Ife road works currently transforming mobility
The Ilesa township revitalisation
– Osogbo road rehabilitations
Numerous rural access roads across several LGAs
Anyone saying development is only concentrated in Ede is either blind to reality or intentionally being dishonest.
The governor is touching Osun East, West, and Central, something the APC could not balance in twelve years.
2. On Nepotism Accusations
The APC claims the governor filled his cabinet with family members. Where are their names? Where is the evidence?
Political talk is not proof.
Ironically, the same people calling others “nepotistic” saw nothing wrong when:
President Tinubu positioned Seyi Tinubu, unelected and unappointed, to play roles that constitutionally belong to the vice president.
Where was APC’s outrage then? Or does “nepotism” only matter when it is convenient for their propaganda?
3. On Governance and Transparency
Governor Adeleke runs a transparent, open, community-involved administration the very opposite of the occultic, closed-door, godfather-controlled era Osun suffered under the APC.
Let’s not forget:
The APC practically shut down local governments years before leaving office. Education collapsed under their watch.
Health facilities became empty buildings with no equipment or staff. The state treasury was bleeding through opaque contracts and inflated projects.
4. On Systemic Failure Claims
How can the party that caused the systemic failure now pretend to be diagnosing one?
Governor Adeleke revived salary payments, cleared backlog arrears, reactivated moribund infrastructures, empowered artisans, rebuilt public trust, and restored stability, all within just three years.
Things the APC could not achieve in twelve.
5. APC Should Face Their 12-Year Record
If APC has no meaningful achievements after twelve years, maybe silence would serve them better.
As Yoruba people say:
“Gba fun oga yin.” Give respect to who has done what you could not do.
Before attacking Adeleke, they should:
– Show the real achievements of their 12-year rule
– Explain why Osun was one of the most indebted states they left behind
– Tell citizens why salaries and pensions were unpaid
– Account for billions spent with nothing to show for it
Until then, they have no moral ground to criticize anyone.
This is the APC’s handiwork, the same party that dragged Osun’s economy into its current mess under the cover of “federal might.” They deliberately crippled local government operations just to push their selfish agenda. Yet, despite the seizure of LG allocations since February 2025, ten months now, Governor Ademola Adeleke has been running the affairs of the state with his own resources and still delivering.
The Osun APC has no moral right to attack a governor who is cleaning up the damage they caused as it is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf.
Meanwhile, Governor Adeleke has repeatedly stated that his administration is focused on correcting the deep structural damage inherited from the APC’s 12-year mismanagement.
According to him, Osun would not be stable today if his government had not prioritised transparency, debt reduction, workers’ welfare, infrastructure rehabilitation, and the restoration of functional governance across all three senatorial districts. He emphasises that his goal is not just to build projects but to rebuild a state that was left broken and financially strangled by the previous administration.
I will be patiently waiting for your (APC) subsequently unfounded condemnation on Governor Ademola Adeleke’s achievements . Let’s start it on the corridor of serious verbal attacks.
