Former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, has explained why he decided to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), attributing his move solely to his admiration for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style and economic vision for Nigeria.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Thursday, Murray-Bruce said his decision was not influenced by personal interests or party loyalty but by his conviction in Tinubu’s ability to rebuild the nation’s economy.
He emphasised that political parties were secondary to the competence and vision of the individual leading the country.
“It’s about leadership. It’s not the party. Forget about party — parties are irrelevant. It’s about the man at the top.
“President Tinubu has shown that he can lead Nigeria, he can fix the economy, he can put together a dream team. People want immediate results, but that’s not going to happen. Nigeria is in very bad shape and needs time to recover,” he said.
The former lawmaker further compared Nigeria’s current economic situation to that of a patient gradually recovering after undergoing surgery.
