The Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the Kebbi State Governor, Abdullahi Idris, has dismissed claims that Governor Nasir Idris rewards political thugs with government jobs or contracts.

Speaking during a live interview on TVC News on Tuesday, Idris described the allegations as cheap and baseless.

He said the governor follows a strict vetting process before making appointments or awarding contracts, ensuring that only credible and qualified individuals are chosen.

“Never, forever. The governor doesn’t give an appointment just like that for political reasons,” he said.

“When the governor wants to give you an appointment, he consults your local government or emirate to check your credibility, sincerity, and honesty.”

Idris insisted that Kebbi State’s traditional and religious leaders are always involved in vetting potential appointees.

“How can a district head, a traditional ruler, or a religious leader recommend a political thug for employment in the government?” he asked.

The governor’s aide maintained that the administration does not empower or encourage violence in any form.

He said the government’s priority is to maintain peace and attract investment to create jobs and improve living standards for the people of Kebbi State.
