VIDEO: Peter Obi joins TikTok - THE METRO

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has officially joined popular social media platform, TikTok.

He posted his first video on Tuesday via the account @mr.peter.obi.

In the video, he said, “This is my official and only TikTok page. Kindly join me towards building a new Nigeria that is possible.”

As of the time of this report, the former Anambra State governor has gained 4,510 followers.

However, this is not the first time a popular politician will be joining the video-sharing platform in recent times.

Newsmen reports that former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, recently launched his own TikTok account following his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

El-Rufai’s page attracted over 200,000 followers within 24 hours, as he invited users to engage with him on Nigerian politics and SDP activities.

El-Rufai’s defection followed his public criticism of the APC, accusing the party of abandoning its founding principles and focusing on personal financial interests over good governance.
