Some angry candidates of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have been caught on camera vandalizing an examination centre over system failure.
A video sighted by THE METRO showed the environment in chaos as the candidates continuously broke the plastic chairs at the center
The incident occurred on Friday at a JAMB CBT centre located at Abimbola Excel School, Elesin, Amuloko area, Akanran road, Ona Ara LGA, Ibadan, Oyo state.
THE METRO also gathered that the technical difficulties delayed their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Security personnel eventually intervened to restore order, though no arrests were reported.
This is not the first time technical glitches would be experienced during the course of conducting the UTME.
Many students lamented glitches they encountered while writing the UTME in 2024, however, their exams was rescheduled.
JAMB commenced the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) nationwide on Thursday with over two million candidates expected to sit for the entry level examination into tertiary institutions.
Actual statistics gathered from JAMB officials indicate that about 2,030,627 candidates are registered to sit for the examination across the country.
Among the candidates, 41,026 who applied for the examination, are below the age of 16.
JAMB spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said adjustment had been made to accommodate essential commitments by the board and its partner agencies.
