1. Commendation of Governor Uba Sani
President Tinubu praised Governor Uba Sani for restoring peace and stability in Kaduna, describing him as “an agent of change, unity, and progress.” He lauded the governor’s leadership in healing ethnic divisions and improving security, saying Kaduna has moved from a “toxic” atmosphere to one of harmony.
2. Major Projects Commissioned
During the visit, Tinubu inaugurated several landmark projects, including: The Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development in Rigachikun, Igabi LGA, the 300-bed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital in Millennium City and a fleet of 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to improve eco-friendly public transport.
3. Light Rail Project Promise
The President announced plans by the Federal Government to support a light rail system in Kaduna to enhance transportation and economic growth.
4. National Honours Awarded
President Tinubu conferred the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, a former Kaduna governor and democracy activist. He also affirmed the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) awarded to Governor Uba Sani for his contributions to democratic governance.
5. Acknowledgement of Traditional Rulers
Tinubu appreciated Kaduna’s traditional rulers for supporting peace and development initiatives led by Governor Sani.
6. Kaduna’s Security Turnaround
Citing improved safety in formerly dangerous areas like Birnin Gwari, Tinubu acknowledged that peace has returned to places that once required heavy security escort during political campaigns.
7. Federal Commitment
The President pledged to work closely with Governor Sani on all aspects of his development agenda, vowing to support Kaduna’s rise in infrastructure, unity, and economic growth.
