Following a thorough screening by the Senate Committee on Communications, the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday confirmed Idris Ibikunle Olorunnimbe from the South West as the new Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Board.
During plenary, the Senate adopted the Committee’s recommendations and also confirmed the appointments of Maryam Bayi from the North East, Senator Ramoni Olalekan Mustafa from the South West, and Ikechukwu Ugwuegede from the South East as Commissioners of the NCC Board.
Additionally, Princess Oforitsenere Emiko and Christopher Sandy Okorie, both representing the South South, were approved as Board members.
The newly confirmed appointees join others who had already been confirmed on the Board, including Executive Vice Chairman Dr Aminu Maida (North West), Executive Commissioner for Technical Services Abraham Oshadami (North Central), and Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management Rimini H. Makama (North Central).
