Primate Ayodele Names Four Opposition Governors to Join APC to Work Against Tinubu

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about the potential defection of certain opposition governors to the ruling APC.

In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele emphasized that the president should be wary, as not all governors who join the party will genuinely support him—some may act against his interests even from within APC.

The cleric specifically named the governors of Taraba, Zamfara, Enugu, and Kano, noting that while a few may have sincere intentions, others, including some who have already switched parties, may not prioritize the president’s agenda.

“Approximately four opposition governors are expected to move to the APC, including those from Taraba, Kano, Zamfara, and Enugu. While there is an agreement to support Mr. President’s second-term ambition, not all of them are likely to honour it,” Ayodele explained.

He further revealed that some governors might be defecting simply to gain the president’s endorsement for their own political ambitions. “Certain individuals are joining to receive Mr. President’s blessings, so the question of who truly supports him will be critical,” he added.

Ayodele advised President Tinubu to personally evaluate these new entrants to identify potential adversaries. He also warned that some members of the APC may not genuinely wish for the president’s success.

“The reality is that not all will work for Mr. President’s victory; some are enemies. He needs to scrutinize them carefully to determine who truly supports him,” he concluded.
