Politics, they say, is not a do-or-die affair. The recently concluded PDP gubernatorial primary election in Ekiti State has once again proven that the true spirit of democracy is alive and well within the great party.
It was a contest of ideas, character, and vision, and at the end of it all, the will of the people prevailed peacefully, honorably, and decisively.
In a keenly contested race that stretched into the early hours of Sunday morning, Dr Wole Oluyede emerged victorious with 279 votes, defeating Funso Ayeni, who garnered 239 votes, and Funmilayo Ogun, who secured 17 votes.
It was a night of passion, conviction, and belief in a brighter future for Ekiti PDP.
Special commendation goes to Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo, the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, for his transparent and credible handling of the process.
Equally worthy of praise are the aspirants, delegates, and the entire PDP family in Ekiti for their discipline, maturity, and love for the party which has now helped in writing a new chapter in the history of Ekiti politics.
To Peter Obafemi, who stepped down from the race in the spirit of unity and peace. His action exemplifies leadership, selflessness, and the understanding that what matters most is not personal ambition but the collective good of our dear party.
Now that the primaries are over, the real journey begins. The outcome of the election is not by chance but by the grace of God. Dr. Wole Oluyede’s victory is a divine mandate, and those who contested alongside him are also men and women favored by God, but in every race, a torchbearer must emerge Oluyede has been chosen, and it is time for every member of the PDP family to rally round him with one heart and one voice.
To the great people of Ekiti State, this is a moment to look forward with renewed strength. Dr. Oluyede represents competence, compassion, and a clear vision to reposition Ekiti on the path of growth and prosperity. He can not do it alone , he needs the unalloyed support, faith, and unity to deliver victory for the PDP and return the state to the people.
It’s time to rise as one family, one voice, and one party. The time to send the APC government packing is now. The time to reclaim Ekiti’s pride and promise is here.
With Dr. Wole Oluyede, by the grace of God, PDP is ready to take Ekiti to the promised land.
Together, PDP will win.
Together, PDP will build.
Together, Ekiti will move forward!!!
