Osun APC: The Party of Cotton Wool Politics and Kangaroo Elections

InCollage 20251214

...Hon Comrade James Onifade mocks Osun APC

When desperation meets delusion, a masterclass in political comedy begins. I’ll confess something today. I actually had respect for the All Progressives Congress (APC). Yes, you read that right. I genuinely believed they were a formidable opposition with structure, intelligence, and the capacity to present serious alternatives to the people of Osun State. I thought they understood the pulse of the electorate. I believed they had learned from their past mistakes and were ready to engage in democratic processes with maturity and dignity.

What I witnessed recently wasn’t politics, it was a circus performance, and not even a well-rehearsed one. It was political theatre so poorly executed that even amateur dramatists would be embarrassed. The APC just conducted what they called a “primary election,” and honestly, I’m still trying to figure out if it was a joke, a prank, or perhaps an audition for a comedy show.

Where Was The Structure? Where Was The Process?
Let me ask the obvious questions that any politically conscious Nigerian should be asking: Where was your National Working Committee? Where were your duly confirmed delegates? Where were the INEC officials to oversee and validate this so-called primary election? Or have we now reached a point where political parties can just gather a few people, take photographs, and declare winners without following due process?

This is democracy, not a WhatsApp group chat where you can just announce things and expect them to become reality! The APC conducted what they brazenly called a primary election without the basic requirements that make an election legitimate. No proper delegate list. No INEC presence. No adherence to the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended). Just a kangaroo show designed to deceive the gullible and create false impressions in the media.
This is not politics—this is political fraud dressed in borrowed robes.

The “Accord Party” Confusion: When You Can’t Even Get Names Right

Now, here’s where it gets even more hilarious. The APC claimed they conducted their primary under something they called “Accord Party.” Let me educate you since it’s clear that basic research is too much work for your team:
There is NO political party called “Accord Party” registered with INEC and the INEC even confirmed it so what then are we saying?

The party you’re trying to piggyback on is called ACCORD (formerly known as Accord Party, now rebranded as Accord Oneness and Progress). This is the same ACCORD from which Governor Ademola Adeleke obtained his gubernatorial ticket through a proper, democratic, and legally recognized process.
So when you claim to be operating under “Accord Party,” you’re essentially operating under a ghost entity a phantom party that exists only in your imagination and desperate press statements. Go and check the INEC portal yourself. You will find ACCORD, not “Accord party.” Our principal’s name has been duly submitted and accepted after following every democratic procedure as enshrined in the Electoral Act.
Your “Accord Party” is as real as a three-naira note.

The Real Agenda: Destabilization Through Deception

Let’s call this charade what it truly is a calculated, desperate attempt to destabilize the legitimate ticket of Governor Ademola Adeleke. The APC’s kangaroo governorship primary election wasn’t about democracy or internal party processes. It was a malicious scheme designed to create confusion, cast doubt, and undermine the legitimate mandate of a governor who obtained his ticket through proper, constitutional, and democratic means from ACCORD.

They claim they held a gubernatorial primary election under “Accord Party” because Governor Adeleke got his ticket from ACCORD. Do you see the wicked game they’re playing?

They want to confuse the unsuspecting public, create a false equivalence, and muddy the waters so that people will question the legitimacy of the real ACCORD ticket.
But their plan has failed woefully.

To APC Members: Stop Rejoicing Over Nothing
To the rank and file members of the APC who are celebrating this kangaroo exercise: Why are you rejoicing over something that is not realistic?
Open your eyes and look carefully at what your leaders are feeding you. All the people who were expected to be present at this so-called gubernatorial primary election were conspicuously absent. There was no proper structure, no legitimate process, no adherence to party guidelines or electoral laws. Yet, you’re being asked to celebrate and believe that something meaningful happened.
You are being deceived!
Your mission is clear to everyone except perhaps yourselves you want to victimize Governor Ademola Adeleke. You want to delegitimize his mandate. You want to create confusion where there is clarity. But this mission, like all your previous efforts, is an effort in futility.

These tactics are not new. We’ve seen them before. Your games are known. Your antics are exposed. The people of Osun State are not foolish they know exactly what you’re trying to do, and they’re not buying it.
Cotton Wool Politics: Light, Fluffy, and Substanceless

I thought you people (APC) had weight. I thought you had substance. But after watching this comedy of errors, I’ve realized that you people are as light as cotton wool fluffy, floating aimlessly in the wind, with no weight, no substance, and no grounding in reality.

You have no structure. You have no process. You have no legitimacy. What you have is desperation, propaganda, and a dangerous disregard for democratic norms.
And the most tragic part? Some of your own members are gullible enough to believe this charade. They’re cheering for a kangaroo process, celebrating illegitimacy, and pretending that shortcuts can replace hard work and due process.

A Wake-Up Call to APC Members: Your Leaders Are Deceiving You

To every honest APC member in Osun State who still has a functioning conscience: Wake up from your slumber!
Do you know what you are doing? Do you understand that all these actions your leaders are taking are just elaborate schemes to deceive you? They are using your loyalty, your time, your energy, and your resources to pursue a lost cause built on lies and illegal processes.

You are being used. Your party leadership is playing games with your intelligence. They’re conducting fake primaries, creating phantom party alliances, and disregarding every democratic principle all in a desperate attempt to undermine the good governance and goodwill that Governor Ademola Adeleke has built.
Do you not see what’s happening? Do you not realize that this reckless approach will only lead to more embarrassment and defeat? Your leaders know their games are over in Osun State, but rather than accept reality and rebuild properly, they’re dragging you through one failed scheme after another.
Stop basing your joy on something that is not realistic. The kangaroo election you celebrated never happened in any legitimate sense. There is nothing to rejoice about. You are celebrating a mirage, a phantom, an illusion created by desperate politicians who have run out of ideas.

Governor Ademola Adeleke will beat you hands down come 2026 not because of any special magic, but because he has followed due process, delivered governance, and maintained the trust of the people. While you’re busy conducting kangaroo elections and creating confusion with ghost parties, he’s busy working for the people of Osun State.

To the Good People of Osun State: Stay Focused and Resilient. To the electorate, the good people of Osun State who have witnessed the transformation under Governor Adeleke’s leadership: We all know the work of the APC. We know their history. We know their tactics. We know their desperation.Do not be moved by what is happening from the APC and their defected party allies.

These are the dying kicks of a political machine that has lost touch with reality and with the people. They will continue to create noise, stage fake events, and spread propaganda. But none of it changes the fundamental truth: they have no legitimate process, no authentic mandate, and no real connection with the aspirations of Osun people.

Stay focused, Stay resilient. Keep your eyes on the work you want to do for Governor Adeleke come 2026. Support the leadership that has brought development, respected democratic processes, and maintained legitimacy. When you do this, success is guaranteed for Governor Adeleke, and that success will bring deserved shame to these so-called APC people who thought they could deceive their way into power.

The people of Osun are wiser now. You have seen genuine governance. You have experienced what it means to have a leader who respects due process and works for the people. Don’t let these desperate antics distract you from the progress being made.

The Message is Clear: Legitimacy Cannot Be Faked

Democracy has rules. Elections have procedures. Political parties have structures. These aren’t suggestions they’re requirements. And when you bypass them, you don’t create an alternative path to victory; you create a path to disgrace.

The APC needs to understand something fundamental: You cannot build legitimacy on illegitimacy. You cannot win elections with kangaroo processes. You cannot deceive the people forever.

All your efforts are always efforts in futility, yet you keep expecting people to believe in you. Your styles are not new anymore. Your games have been exposed. The people of Osun State know your antics inside out. You’re not fooling anyone except perhaps your own members who refuse to see the truth.

The people of Osun State are watching. They see through the smoke and mirrors. They understand the difference between real governance and political games. And come 2026, they will make their choice based on performance, legitimacy, and respect for democratic values.

APC!!! Wake up from your slumber and face reality. The era of political manipulation through fake primaries and phantom parties is finished. The people have moved on. They have seen better. They have experienced genuine leadership. And they will not be dragged backward by your desperate schemes.
Your kangaroo elections fool no one. Your phantom “Accord Party” deceives no one. Your mission to destabilize legitimate governance will fail, as it has always failed.

APC, your games are over in Osun State!!!
