As Osun governorship election draws near, the political landscape is filled with anticipation and speculation.
We all know that the previous administration under Oyetola was a period of stagnation and unfulfilled promises. Many have questioned whether meaningful change was truly possible under his tenure. However, amidst all the noise and uncertainty, one clear truth emerges: the era of electoral manipulation in Osun is over.
The people of Osun have spoken with one voice, there is no way this election can be rigged for anybody. This submission from the masses reflects a collective resolve and a demand for transparent, free, and fair elections. I stand in total support of this sentiment, and every well-meaning Osun resident should embrace this conviction with confidence and hope.
Why Elections Cannot Be Rigged in Osun
Several critical factors ensure the integrity of the electoral process:
The first is. International Scrutiny and Global Attention: The world is watching. International election observers, media, and civil society organizations have their eyes fixed on Osun. This level of transparency makes manipulation virtually impossible. No state officials, no matter how powerful, can afford to compromise the process under such intense global scrutiny.
The second one is INEC’s Renewed Commitment: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has demonstrated a stronger commitment to transparency and the use of modern technology. Electronic voting systems and real-time result transmission have made the old tactics of ballot box snatching and result manipulation obsolete. The electoral body understands that its credibility is on the line, and Osun is a test case.
Thirdly is the Government’s Stance: The administration in Abuja has made it abundantly clear that rigging will not be tolerated. This isn’t mere rhetoric; it reflects a genuine commitment to free and fair elections across the nation. Such a position provides the backing necessary to ensure that INEC operates without political interference.
A Message of Courage to Osun Voters
I urge every Osun resident to cast aside fear and embrace courage. The rumors being peddled by desperate political elements in the opposition are nothing but scaremongering tactics, empty threats meant to discourage you from voting.
Do not listen to the false narratives:
∙ That your votes won’t count
∙ That the election is already predetermined
∙ That rigging is inevitable
∙ That coming out to vote is a waste of time.
These are lies designed to suppress your will. Your vote is your voice. Your presence at the polling unit is your power. When you vote, you are not just choosing a leader; you are affirming your right to democracy and self-determination.
Governor Adeleke: The Choice for Continuity and Progress
In his part of development and good governance Gov Ademola Adeleke has recruited the first batch of teachers and this will equally end unemployment in the state, Governor Ademola Adeleke has demonstrated genuine commitment to the welfare of Osun people. His administration has focused on infrastructure development, educational advancement, and economic empowerment. He has built bridges across political lines and fostered partnerships that benefit all Osun residents.
