A student of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo State, identified as Oluwaseun, was hacked to death by unknown assailants on Monday.

Oluwaseun, a new student in the Department of Mass Communication, was killed at Opomulero Street in Owo just a few weeks into his academic journey.

A fellow student, who spoke anonymously, confirmed that Oluwaseun had been on campus for barely two months and also pursued music alongside his studies.

“He was a fresher who had spent just three to four weeks on campus. In fact, he was a course representative. It is sad that we lost him. Unfortunately, he was macheted,” the source said.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Ondo State, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident but said more details would be provided later.
