NUOLGS National Body Pays Courtesy Visit to HRM Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye, The Jegun of Idepe-Okitipupa

On Thursday, 11th September 2025, the leadership of the National Union of Okitipupa Local Government Students (NUOLGS) National Body, under the dynamic leadership of the Students-Centered National President, Sen. Prince Adeoye Omoleminu, paid a historic courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye, The Jegun of Idepe-Okitipupa.

The visit formed part of the union’s strategic efforts to strengthen collaboration between students and traditional rulers, thereby ensuring that the voice of Okitipupa students is well recognized and represented.

During the engagement, the National President expressed heartfelt appreciation to His Royal Majesty for granting the union audience. He formally introduced the NUOLGS delegates and highlighted key areas of possible collaboration with the traditional institution. He also presented the aims and objectives of the union, emphasizing its commitment to student welfare and community development.

Sen. Prince Adeoye Omoleminu further briefed His Royal Majesty on the upcoming World Clean City Day scheduled for 20th September 2025, stressing the importance of a clean environment and the union’s resolve to join the global movement in promoting environmental sustainability. He also shared some of the union’s future programs and extended an invitation to His Royal Majesty to be part of those landmark initiatives.

In his response, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Adetoye Obatuga, commended the NUOLGS leadership for recognizing and engaging the traditional rulers of Okitipupa. He applauded the National President’s vision for the students, describing it as laudable and inspiring. The monarch particularly praised the Clean City initiative as a noble and timely cause, assuring the union of his continuous support in all their activities.
