The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given approval for 13 innovative degree programmes designed to transform Nigeria’s higher education and align it with global standards.
The newly approved courses include:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Nuclear Engineering
- Nuclear Science
- Geomatics Engineering
- Telecommunication Science
- Community Health Science
- Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
- Intelligence & Security Studies
- Human Kinetics (Sport Management)
- Islamic Economics & Finance
- Parasitology & Entomology
- Cooperative Economics & Management
- Christian Education
Under the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS), these programmes will be introduced after universities complete resource verification.
The NUC stated that the initiative will “equip graduates with future-ready skills and boost Nigeria’s edge in science, technology, and sustainable development.”
