NPSGGG Wishes Nigerians Happy New Year, Champions Hope, Unity and Good Governance in 2026

The National Prayer Support Group for Good Governance (NPSGGG) has greeted Nigerians at home and in the diaspora as the country steps into 2026, urging citizens and leaders alike to embrace hope, unity, and good governance.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Oluwaseun Gbenupo Kentomahun, on January 1, 2026, the group, led by its Director General, Ambassador Alhaji Abdulhakeem Atilade and National Coordinator, Hon. Mrs. Agnes Umeh, said it welcomed the new year “with renewed hope, faith, and optimism.”

“The National Prayer Support Group for Good Governance (NPSGGG) ably led by the Director General, Ambassador Alhaji Abdulhakeem Atilade and National Coordinator, Hon. Mrs. Agnes Umeh warmly extends its New Year greetings to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora as we welcome the year 2026 with renewed hope, faith, and optimism,” the statement read.

The group described the New Year as a period for reflection and recommitment, noting that “The New Year offers a fresh opportunity for national reflection, spiritual renewal, and collective recommitment to building a Nigeria anchored on good governance, accountability, unity, and sustainable development.”

Emphasising the group’s faith-driven mission, the statement added, “As a prayer-driven support group, we believe strongly that national transformation is achieved through both divine guidance and responsible leadership.”

The NPSGGG urged leaders across all levels of government to uphold integrity and transparency, stating, “We call on leaders at all levels of government to embrace integrity, wisdom, compassion, and transparency in the discharge of their duties.”

It also called on Nigerians to remain engaged in promoting national unity, adding, “We also encourage Nigerians to remain prayerful, peaceful, law-abiding, and actively engaged in promoting national unity and democratic values.”

Acknowledging the challenges of the past year, the group commended Nigerians for their resilience, saying, “Despite the challenges faced in the previous year, Nigerians have continued to demonstrate remarkable resilience, faith, and hope.”

Looking ahead, the NPSGGG expressed confidence in the country’s future, stating, “As we step into 2026, we are confident that with earnest prayers, constructive engagement, and collective patriotism, our nation will experience greater stability, progress, and prosperity.”

Concluding the message, the group added, “On behalf of the leadership and members of the National Prayer Support Group for Good Governance, I wish all Nigerians a Happy New Year filled with peace, divine favor, progress, and renewed national purpose.”

The statement ended with a prayer for the nation: “God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
