Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has officially resumed her duties at the National Assembly, reclaiming her office in the Senate Wing after a six-month suspension.
Her return was marked by the unsealing of her office on Tuesday by Alabi Adedeji, Deputy Director of the National Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms.
The Kogi Central lawmaker, barred from her Senate activities since March 2025 over a seat reassignment dispute, declared she has “no apology to tender” and thanked her constituents and supporters for their steadfast backing. She described her return as a triumph of perseverance and resilience in the face of procedural challenges.
Although her suspension formally ended in September, legal and administrative hurdles delayed her comeback. A Federal High Court ruling in July had deemed the suspension excessive and unconstitutional, clearing the way for her to resume work.
While she now has access to her office, it remains to be confirmed whether she will fully participate in upcoming plenary sessions scheduled to resume on October 7.
