Man Ordered to Sweep Mosque for Keeping Weapon in Tricycle

The Kano Shari’a Court No. 1 sitting in Kofar Kudu of Kano Municipality has ordered a tricycle rider to be kept in bondage after he was found guilty of keeping a weapon in the tricycle.

The suspect, Bashir Abdullahi ‘Yankaba, was arraigned by the police and charged with weapon possession.

When prosecution counsel, Barrister Aliya Aminu ‘Yargaya, read the charge to him, the accused pleaded guilty, saying, however, that he kept the weapon for self-defence after his tricycle was forcefully snatched from him in the past.
