Popular American business magazine, Forbes, has released the official net worth of the cabinet members of United States President Donald Trump.
The report shows that the team, made up of Wall Street financiers, former CEOs, television hosts and just one career politician, is the richest cabinet in U.S. history.
In October 2024, weeks before the election, Trump appeared at a town hall outside Detroit with billionaire Howard Lutnick by his side.
Lutnick, now commerce secretary, described the kind of administration Trump planned to assemble as the, “Best business leaders in the country,” adding that, “They will be loyal to him, they will have fidelity to him, they will follow his policies, and this will be the most extraordinary government you’ve ever seen.”
Forbes puts the combined wealth of Trump’s cabinet at $7.5 billion, excluding the president himself. This figure is more than double the $3.2 billion combined worth of Trump’s 2019 cabinet. In contrast, Joe Biden’s cabinet was valued at about $110 million in 2021.
The president himself remains the wealthiest in the list, with Forbes estimating Trump’s fortune at $5.5 billion.
Apart from the president, the biggest fortunes come from Lutnick and education secretary Linda McMahon, both billionaires.
Treasury secretary Scott Bessent, interior secretary Doug Burgum and energy secretary Chris Wright each hold wealth above $100 million.
Other members, including labor secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer and health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., add to the overall wealth, while secretary of state Marco Rubio is the only career politician among them.
