A former member of the House of Representatives, Danjuma Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress after defecting from the All Progressives Congress.
Shiddi, who represented Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency in the 8th and 9th National Assembly, made the announcement in a statement to his supporters across Taraba State on Saturday.
He said his decision to pitch tent with the ADC followed “careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations.”
The former lawmaker explained that the ADC would serve as the platform for his political movement as preparations heighten ahead of the 2027 elections.
Shiddi, who enjoys grassroots support in Southern Taraba, urged his followers to rally behind him in the new political journey.
His words, “After careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations, I am pleased to announce that we will be charting a new course under the banner of the African Democratic Congress.
“This will serve as our platform as we actively engage in the democratic process leading into the 2026/2027 elections.”
He also described the overwhelming support he has enjoyed since leaving the APC as proof of the strength of his movement and its resolve to serve the people.
Shiddi, who once chaired the House Committee on Internal Security, called on his supporters, sympathisers, and all who desire good governance to stand with the ADC in the coming political dispensation.
