The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released a detailed update on the Examination Phase of the CDCFIB 2025 recruitment exercise, confirming that the Computer-Based Test conducted between 12 and 19 November marked one of the most important stages of the nationwide process.
The recruitment drive covers four key paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
According to the Board, the CBT was structured to ensure fairness and merit, with a uniform assessment administered to candidates across all states.
The application portal, which was open from 14 July to 11 August 2025, received more than 1.8 million submissions. The Nigeria Immigration Service recorded the highest number of applicants.

- Nigeria Immigration Service – 703,499
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps – 482,198
- Nigerian Correctional Service – 406,491
- Federal Fire Service – 165,212
- CDCFIB Secretariat – 116,122
From the total applications received, 1,120,491 fully completed entries progressed to the next stage. The Board also recorded 432,935 incomplete applications and 360,923 disqualified entries.
The online CBT recorded a participation rate of 71.8 per cent among shortlisted candidates, while 18.5 per cent did not sit the exam. About 5.4 per cent were flagged for various violations during the test.
Most candidates fell within the 61–80 score range.
The full score distribution is as follows:
- 0–40: 221,996
- 41–60: 229,155
- 61–80: 278,543
- 81–100: 142,697
The Board added that Stage 4 of the CDCFIB recruitment will involve physical screening and document verification, noting that specific dates and guidelines will soon be announced.
