A student of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, has been found alive, four years after being reported missing.
Shafiu, who hails from the Janbulo area in Kano, went missing in 2021, prompting an extensive search by his family and friends.
According to family sources, the student was discovered in Kaduna State, where he had been living under the care of an Islamic scholar.
“He was found in a village in Kaduna with a cleric who said he took him in years ago when he appeared mentally unstable,” a relative said.
The family expressed gratitude to God for Shafiu’s safe return after years of uncertainty, noting that he has been reunited with them and is currently in stable condition.
