Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Arise TV, the governor, along with 23 members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This development comes just 24 hours after Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, also became a member of the APC.
While the specifics of the move are still unclear, sources indicate that the governor and the lawmakers may soon make a formal announcement regarding their defection.
In recent weeks, several federal and state legislators have left opposition parties to join the APC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
