BREAKING: Bandits Attack Kwara Community, Abduct Pregnant Woman, 10 Children, Others

Bandits have reportedly attacked the Isapa community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting a pregnant woman, 10 children, two nursing mothers, and several other residents.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that between 20 and 30 armed bandits stormed the community, moving alongside a large herd of cattle while sporadically firing shots.

During the attack, a stray bullet reportedly struck an elderly woman.

Confirming the incident, a community leader told National Pilot that 11 people were kidnapped, including seven members of a single family.

The victims have been identified as: Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat (a housewife), Fatima Yusufu (a housewife), Sarah Sunday (pregnant woman), Lami Fidelis (a nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah.

The attackers are said to have fled through bush paths linking Eruku to neighbouring communities, leaving residents in a state of panic and confusion.

The attack comes less than two weeks after another attack by bandits on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), during which 38 members were abducted and others reportedly lost their lives.

All 38 individuals abducted during the church incident have reportedly been rescued.
