The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed May 22 to hold a national summit to assess the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and chart a strategic path forward.
In a notice signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, the event was described as a platform for “dialogue, reflection, and strategic planning” for both the party and the country.
Sources within the APC national secretariat told Daily Trust that the summit, which will be held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, is part of broader efforts to consolidate the party’s hold on power ahead of the 2027 general elections.
President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are expected to lead the deliberations. Also invited are former President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Other attendees include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
Serving and former governors, deputy governors, former Senate Presidents, former House Speakers, and all APC lawmakers at the national level are also expected.
The summit will also host APC ministers, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and members of key party organs including the National Working Committee (NWC) and National Executive Committee (NEC).
Former party leaders, representatives of APC support groups, women, youths, and persons with disabilities are also slated to attend. It will be the party’s largest gathering since its NEC meeting in February.
