Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, the renowned music icon, has been appointed as Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach by Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia. The appointment was announced during a courtesy visit by the singer to the governor’s office.
Alia praised 2Baba for his ongoing support and expressed confidence in his ability to contribute more meaningfully to the state’s development through the new role.
“On behalf of the Benue state government and our very good people, we want to give you some more responsibilities plus the ones you have been doing because you have the capacity to do some more.
“Given your experience and influence, we believe you can help us impact more lives positively,” the governor said. “So, on behalf of the people of Benue, I’m pleased to appoint you as Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.”
“And I feel it would not be out of place at all, because you are a guru of entertainment. Once you say 2Face people start dancing even without a song. So we are happy you are here,” he said.
The award-winning artist hails from Okpokwu Local Government Area in the Benue South Senatorial District.
His appointment is seen as part of the government’s effort to strengthen engagement with the creative industry and improve grassroots communication.
