President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a short working visit to Paris, France, where he will review his administration’s mid-term performance and assess key economic and governance milestones.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s visit will serve as a strategic retreat to evaluate the progress of ongoing reforms and map out priorities ahead of his administration’s second anniversary.
“This period of reflection will inform plans to deepen ongoing reforms and accelerate national development priorities in the coming year,” the statement read.
The trip comes amid reports of economic progress, with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announcing a sharp increase in net foreign exchange reserves, which now stand at $23.11 billion—a substantial rise from $3.99 billion in 2023. The government attributes this improvement to fiscal and monetary reforms implemented under Tinubu’s administration.
Despite his time away, the President will remain fully engaged with his team and continue to oversee governance activities remotely.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria in about two weeks, after concluding high-level assessments and strategic planning for the nation’s future.
