Ramadan: State Governor approves second term holiday for schools

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved second term holiday for all day and boarding public and private primary and post-primary schools in the state.

A statement on Tuesday by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru, said parents and guardians of students in boarding schools should convey their wards home by the early hours of Friday, February 28.

“Boarding schools’ students are to return to their respective schools on Sunday, April 6, 2025 while the day students are to resume on Monday, April 7, 2025,” the statement read.

According to Kiru, the Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, urged parents and guardians to ensure total compliance with resumption dates.

He warned that appropriate disciplinary action would be taken against defaulting students.

Makoda appreciated the cooperation and support given to the ministry and wished the students a successful and hitch-free Ramadan holiday.
