OOU students stabs roommate during argument

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old 5th-year Business Education student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Koya Ayodeji, for allegedly attacking a colleague with a knife over an argument

Punch Metro learnt from the state police command on Thursday that the incident occurred in Ago-Iwoye on Tuesday at about 11:50 pm.

The victim, Ayobami Ajayi, a 21-year-old 3rd-year Mass Communication student, was allegedly sta.bbed in the lower abdomen during the altercation over alleged noise the suspect claimed was emanating from his (the victim’s) room.

The spokesperson for the state command, Omolola Odutola, stated that the suspect was under the influence of drugs and had been acting strangely before the argument ensued between him and the victim.

Ayodeji had asked Ajayi to reduce the noise emanating from his room, but his warning was said to have been ignored by the victim.

However, in a fit of anger, Ayodeji allegedly picked up a knife and stuck it in the victim’s lower abdomen, causing him severe injuries.

The command added that Ajayi was rushed to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, where doctors treating him had described his condition as stable.

“The Divisional Crime Branch has visited the crime scene, recovering a blood-stained knife, which has been marked as evidence. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more details emerge,” the police spokesperson added.
