Three More Governors Will Soon Resign from PDP — Fayose

Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has announced that three additional governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are expected to resign from the party soon.

Fayose shared this information on Wednesday during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

His comments come in the wake of Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri’s, recent resignation from the PDP.

The two-term former governor warned that the opposition party could soon be left with only five serving governors as internal conflicts continue to destabilise the party.

“Let me tell you, there are three more governors that will leave soon. There will be five remaining. The five remaining, one of them will struggle to catch the ticket, and they all know that the ticket is an ordinary tissue paper,” Fayose stated.

Fayose further accused some PDP governors of contributing to the party’s decline because of their ambition to control its leadership structure.

“They are largely killing the party because they want to control it. This is what happened in 2023,” he added.
