The National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria has announced its 2025 recruitment drive, inviting applications from qualified Nigerians to fill various positions within the Commission. Available Positions

The NUC is seeking candidates for the following roles:

1. Senior Officer (CONTISS 9)
   • Qualifications: A Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to the Commission’s mandate, or a Master’s degree with at least four years of post-qualification cognate experience.
   • Responsibilities: Senior Officers are expected to undertake high-level administrative and advisory duties within the Commission.
2. Trainee/Officer I (CONTISS 8)
   • Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
   • Responsibilities: Trainee Officers will assist in various departmental functions, gaining experience for future responsibilities.
3. Trainee Officer II (CONTISS 7)
   • Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant discipline.
   • Responsibilities: Entry-level officers will support departmental activities and administrative tasks.
4. Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 7)
   • Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies or related fields.
   • Responsibilities: Managing confidential correspondence, scheduling, and administrative support for senior officers.
5. Assistant Cameraman (CONTISS 5)
   • Qualifications: A National Diploma (ND) in Mass Communication, Theatre Arts, or related fields.
   • Responsibilities: Assisting in video production, editing, and media-related tasks.
6. Data Processing Assistant (CONTISS 5)
   • Qualifications: A National Diploma (ND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
   • Responsibilities: Managing and processing data, maintaining databases, and supporting IT operations.
7. Artisans/Craftsmen (CONTISS 4 or CONTISS 3)
   • Roles: Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, Air-conditioning Mechanic.
   • Qualifications: At least an ‘O’ Level Certificate or its equivalent, with a Class II/III Trade Test Certificate in the appropriate trade.
   • Responsibilities: Performing duties related to fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repairs in specific trades.
8. Lift Operator (CONTISS 4 or CONTISS 3)
   • Qualifications: At least a First School Leaving Certificate.
   • Responsibilities: Operating lifts within the Commission’s premises and performing basic maintenance tasks.
9. Motor Driver/Mechanic (CONTISS 4 or CONTISS 3)
   • Qualifications: At least an ‘O’ Level Certificate or its equivalent, with a Class II/III Trade Test Certificate for Motor Mechanic Work, plus a valid Class ‘C’ Driving license.
   • Responsibilities: Driving assigned vehicles, maintaining vehicle records, and performing basic mechanical repairs.

 General Eligibility Criteria

• Citizenship: Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth or naturalization.
• Age: Minimum age of 18 years; maximum age of 35 years.
• Educational Requirements: Depending on the position, candidates should possess relevant academic qualifications, such as a Bachelor’s degree, National Diploma, or Trade Test Certificate.
• Experience: Relevant work experience may be required for certain positions.
