At least two teams have been eliminated from the 2025 Club World Cup following Friday’s fixtures.
The first club to be sent packing was Seattle Sounders following a 3-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
Diego Simeone’s men bounced back from a 4-0 hammering in the hands of Paris Saint-Germain with victory over the MLS side.
Pablo Barrios grabbed a brace, before Axel Witsel added another.
Seattle pulled one back through Albert Rusnák, but it was not enough to stop them from exiting the competition, as it was their second consecutive loss.
Auckland City are also out of the Club World Cup.
The New Zealand club were thrashed 10-0 by Bayern Munich in what has become a historic result.
They also lost 5-0 to Benfica on Friday, meaning they have conceded 15 times and failed to score a single goal.
