10 Facts About The New iPhone 17 Series

From the first iPhone to today’s sleek devices, the journey for Apple lovers continues with the launch of the iPhone 17 series, bringing slimmer builds, sharper cameras and longer-lasting batteries.

The series: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, will begin shipping globally later this month, with prices expected to start at about $799 (₦1.3 million) in Nigeria, depending on model and storage.

1. Thinnest iPhone ever

The iPhone 17 Air is only 5.5mm thick, making it the slimmest iPhone Apple has ever made.

2. Made in India

For the first time, all iPhone 17 models are being produced in India, in partnership with Foxconn and Tata.

3. Better display

Every model is expected to come with a 120Hz OLED screen, which makes scrolling and gaming much smoother.

4. Sharper selfies

The front camera is upgraded to 24 megapixels for clearer pictures and video calls.

5. Camera redesign

The Pro models will have a new horizontal camera bar and can shoot in 8K video with up to 8x zoom.

6. Bigger battery for Pro Max

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery, the biggest ever on an iPhone.

7. New materials

Apple is expected to drop titanium and use aluminium frames in the Pro models to keep the phones lighter and cooler.

8. Faster chip

The new A19 processor powers the iPhone 17 and Air, while the Pro versions get the A19 Pro chip with more speed and efficiency.

9. No Plus model

Apple has removed the ‘Plus’ version this year. Instead, the iPhone 17 Air takes its place between the regular and Pro models.

10. Fresh colours

Purple and green are rumoured to be part of the new colour options.
